Wednesday November 18, 2015 - CORD leader, Raila Odinga, has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of
using state machinery at his disposal to shield embattled Devolution Cabinet
Secretary, Miss Anne Waiguru, from prosecution over the loss of billions of
shillings from her docket.
In a statement to the press from London on
Tuesday, Raila dismissed the planned prosecution of National Youth Service
(NYS) Director General, Nelson Githinji, and Planning PS, Eng. Peter Mangiti,
saying this is a desperate attempt to protect corrupt Waiguru.
Raila also advised the President to
appoint an international audit firm to review the Sh 791 million scandal
because CID and EACC officials have been compromised by Waiguru and her
coterie.
The former PM noted that a report of an
independent audit should be made public and submitted simultaneously to both
the President and Parliament in order to prove to Kenyans that Waiguru is
clean.
“If the government doesn’t do this,
that is evidence that this is all a cover up to save the High Priestess of Corruption
in Kenya,” Raila said.
“The Government must stop taking
Kenyans for fools. We refuse to accept that the NYS corruption saga has now
been settled,” Raila added.
Raila said the charging of Mangiti
and Githinji is just the tip of the iceberg and the "queen" of corruption
is still looting public money under Uhuru’s watch.
