Public pressure seems to have won against strong and powerful political forces that surround the Cabinet Secretary for Devolution and Planning, Ann Waiguru who has been under pressure to resign due to massive corruption allegations in her ministry and corporations associated to her ministry. She has finally bowed to the pressure and stepped aside to allow clear investigations and has admitted that there were very many loopholes in the dealings in her ministry.
The opposition, led by former prime minister Raila Odinga has been calling for Waiguru’s resignation and there was even a planned impeachment motion tabled in parliament.
The president will have to appoint a new acting CS until investigations are concluded. More details as they unroll.
