How Old Is Beyoncé? Father Says She Is Lying About Her Age

 

Mathew Knowles continues to use his daughter Beyoncé’s name as a means to stay newsworthy — this time, it’s by adding fuel to the rumor that the superstar is lying about her age.
The “Halo” singer has long listed her birthday as September 4, 1981, making her 34, but Mathew claims she is actually the same age as pop star Pink, who was born in 1979.
In a new interview with Power 105.1’s Breakfast Club, Knowles says (in the context of telling another story) that Pink is “exact same age as Beyoncé.” Pink is 36, and Beyoncé is (according to her) 34. Beyoncé’s age has been a source of speculation for years, complete with alleged birth certificate leaks and celebrity sources (Gabrielle Union, who is nine years older than Beyoncé, has said they were friends when they were teenagers).
At another point in the interview, he does refer to her as 34 years old. “I think they [Destiny’s Child] have so much because they started so early in life,” says Knowles. “This goes back to eight years old, and now we’re talking 34.”
Knowles also briefly plays therapist for the DJs, telling Charlamagne tha God that’s he’s “the insecure one” — watch the full interview below:
